Back on the trend with the operator in mind, Mitutoyo has completely redesigned the interface used on the extremely popular Linear Height LH-600. This revitalisation of the LH-600, can be classified as the “F-Series” with two different gripping methods based on what you need, F (column grip) and FG (handle grip).
The biggest change to this height gauge is distinctly noticeable when looking at the operation panel, with the addition of a clearly visible but still tough touch screen. Measurement operations can be performed by using this touch screen or integrated sheet keyboard, both which function perfectly even when wearing work gloves. With this addition, details about measurements and reporting can be easily defined even for users with very little knowledge of 1D and 2D measurement. Combining this with many preset functions, the F-Series makes tasks such as perpendicularity, straightness, pre-placement, and even part programming very easy.
The height gauge also comes with many of the other standard features expected of such a device, multi-lingual operation with up to 21 different options, automatic scale checking, calibration reminders, and many more. One however was greatly improved upon, which was the data transmission functionality. With the typical forms of Digimatic and serial output (wired or wireless), there is also the addition of a free tool for creating and exporting custom
inspection reports as well as configuring the device parameters.
Overall, this new rendition of a quality control classic comes as a massive quality-of-life upgrade for specialists who regularly have to rely on height gauges for their tasks. Customising this new series of the LH-600 with various styli and accessories, the capability is more or less unparalleled.
