Multitrade Distributors is a wholly-owned South African company that specialises in providing tooling solutions to the engineering and manufacturing industries. The company was founded in Port Elizabeth in 1983 with the main objective of introducing and maintaining total tooling solutions for these industries.
Multitrade Distributors has been the sole distributor for Mitsubishi Materials – DIA EDGE products in the Southern African regions since its inception. The company has also introduced various other product offerings to its range, such as Moldino, CERATIZIT Group, Union Materials, ARNO Werkzeuge, D’Andrea and AutoCrib®.
The company head office is located in Johannesburg, and there are branches in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, and Durban. The company services other areas through a network of smaller distributors outside the reach of its branch offices.
Multitrade Distributors takes pride in representing quality brands and believes that the level of expertise of its management and staff is its biggest asset. The technical applications department provides guidance on basic tooling requirements to full CNC programming in many disciplines, including turnkey projects.
In 2019, Multitrade Distributors established a sister company, Multitrade 3D Systems (Pty) Ltd, specialising in supplying South Africa with superior metal additive manufacturing/3D printing machines and solutions from GE Additive, Meltio, and AMAZEMET due to the increasing trend of additive manufacturing in South Africa.

COST SAVING SOLUTIONS
Multitrade offers regrinding, resharpening, design and manufacturing of special tooling. Regrinding drills and end mills to extend tool life and reduce costs. Their technical team designs specialised tooling for applications in order to lower the cost per component and decrease cycle time, therefore, saving their customers money.
DESIGN & MANUFACTURE
Multitrade Distributors offer design and manufacturing services for special tooling. These custom-designed tools are tailored to meet the unique needs of individual customers and specific applications.
PROGRAMMING ASSISTANCE
They run various CAD/CAM packages allowing them to assist customers with the most efficient machining processes, in order to increase tool life and metal removal. Through collaboration with their CAM partners, they can also assist with advanced programming services.
