The Mar4D PLQ has been specifically developed for the measurement, close to production, of rotationally symmetrical workpieces. The Mar4D PLQ represents a state-of-the-art multi-sensor solution incorporating both optical and tactile measurement sensors in a single setup. Workpieces of up to Ø 200mm, 1 000mm in length and 50kg in weight can be measured by the system.
Edgecam 2022 CAD/CAM software advancements anticipate more efficient production
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has revealed future capabilities for milling and turning under Edgecam 2022, as well as the “manufacturing aware” WorkNC CAD feature for mould and die makers. The Renishaw XK10 alignment laser system
The XK10 alignment laser system has been developed to measure geometric and rotational errors of machine tools. Used with the XK10 machine tool fixturing kit, it enables faster and easier measurements over traditional methods, such as dial gauges, autocollimators and metrology artefacts. It can be used on linear rails to ensure that they are straight, square, flat, parallel and level, as well as to assess spindle direction and co-axiality of rotary machines.

Rather than purchasing the software outright, as is typically required, smaller companies and individuals who have air or conventional plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines can now subscribe to ProNest LT.

Yaskawa’s lightweight 6-axis robot
Yaskawa Motoman Robotics division has unveiled what is believed to be the smallest, lightest, 6-axis industrial robot specifically designed for small handling and assembly applications. The MotoMINI 7kg lightweight, portable robot is easy to carry and install close to workpieces and other machinery in existing production lines or cells, providing a payload of 500 grams, a maximum horizontal reach of 350mm, vertical reach of 495mm and repeatability of 0.02mm.
