Baker Baynes invites all manufacturing design maestros and creative innovators to participate in the Autodesk Fusion Maker Design Competition. This is a golden opportunity to demonstrate your exceptional skills and creativity by designing a cutting-edge, portable power station. The competition offers the chance to win exceptional prizes and gain industry-wide recognition.
Competition brief
Participants are tasked with conceptualising and engineering a portable power pack that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, durable, and sustainable. The device should feature a compact form factor with a 6-hour runtime, 100 amp-hours capacity, 1.2kW output, and weigh no more than 10kg. Key specifications include multiple outlets for versatility, a user-friendly display screen, and a sleek, eco-friendly design using sustainable materials.
Design requirements
Your design must deliver on its core promise: efficiency and utility. It should have a 6-hour runtime, 100 amp-hours, 300 to 700W output, and a user-friendly interface with multiple outlets and an input charger plug. Ensure the design is visually appealing, using Autodesk Fusion’s Render Workspace to create high-fidelity visuals. Additionally, consider the ease of manufacturing your design using techniques like 3D resin printing, 2.5 and 3D machining, vacuum forming, sheet metal, and metal work.
Tools and resources
Participants can utilise Autodesk Fusion’s comprehensive toolset for sketching initial ideas, simulating 3D prints, and performing detailed thermal studies. If you haven’t worked with Autodesk Fusion yet, a free 30-day trial is available, and Autodesk Fusion Extensions are accessible for 14 days.
