MACLUBE M.W.O continues to meet the cutting and grinding fluid challenge five years later

Highly stable universal soluble oil adapted to local conditions.

“Master Fluid is a company that I have represented for a number of years, TRIM E715 is sold and manufactured in the USA and Europe. I used to import a product called TRIMSOL from Master Fluid, but saw a need for a locally manufactured product, which are suited for local conditions and not European conditions. In 2014 we started developing the locally manufactured TRIM E715, which had been launched in the USA and Europe in 2010,” said Keith Opperman of Duncan Macdonald & Co.

“It was so successful that the same formulation is now being used in Turkey. The DNA of TRIM E715 is the same as Europe/USA, but we focused more on the South African heat and dusty conditions, and we made sure that the coolant would last longer in the tank/sump of a CNC machine as housekeeping is not a priority in this part of the world.”

TRIM E715 and MACLUBE are versatile emulsions specially formulated for demanding, multi-metal operations to provide superior lubricity and corrosion protection with low residue for all manufacturers. They are designed to operate and perform well on many operations including face milling, cut-off turning, grinding, tapping and drilling

“TRIM E715 is a high-quality, universal soluble oil which requires minimal maintenance in even the most demanding fluid management systems. It has broad application in machining and grinding on a wide range of materials. The high levels of both chemical and mechanical lubricity in this product handle the medium to high-duty machining and grinding jobs. The stable and predictable performance of TRIM E715 makes it a first choice for high-quality, consistent parts manufacturing.”

“It is suitable for machining aluminium alloys, steel alloys, nickel alloys, cast iron and yellow metals.”

“We have recently started to supply world-renowned 4×4 break upgrade kit manufacturer Powerbrake with TRIM E715 and Powerbrake uses it in their Kitamura Supercell-400G – the first of this kind of machine to be installed on the African continent. The Supercell-400G is a 5-axis horizontal machining center and is engineered for high-volume, high-precision production environments.”

“We also supply to Aerosud Aviation – South Africa’s leading aeronautical engineering and manufacturing company. TRIM E715 was so successful when they used it in their manufacturing process that they asked us if we can get aviation approval, as they are manufacturing parts for Airbus, unfortunately, we do not have a certified laboratory yet.”

“Because of the positive market feedback we received, a decision was made to manufacture a generic coolant based on the E715 technology, and in 2020 we came up with MACLUBE Metal Working Oil (MACLUBE M.W.O), which is a 30% cheaper product. That places us smack in the middle of the locally manufactured coolants, all the raw materials are imported, including the base oils which gives MACLUBE consistency in every batch blended.”

“TRIM E715 and MACLUBE are versatile emulsions specially formulated for demanding, multi-metal operations to provide superior lubricity and corrosion protection with low residue for all manufacturers. They are designed to operate and perform well on many operations including face milling, cut-off turning, grinding, tapping and drilling.”

“If the correct percentage emulsion is maintained in the machine and adequate housekeeping done, the coolant will provide long operational life and consistent high-quality surface finishes with improved tool life. It is hard water stable and rejects tramp oil for easy removal and maintenance.”

“They are designed for easy disposal without the need for any special handling.”
