Hurco’s five-axis VMX42SRTi milling center has a flush-mounted, direct-drive C-axis rotary table that provides a larger work zone than other models, the company says. The embedded rotary table design offers 89 mm of added Z-axis capacity for five-axis work. For three-axis work, the increased table size supports parts as large as 1065 x 610 mm. The XYZ travels measure 1065 x 610 x 610 mm with rapid traverse rates of 35, 35 and 30 mpm. The machine has a 12,000-rpm spindle; a 40-station, swing-arm automatic toolchanger; and the company’s integrated control that includes both conversational and NC programming modes.

In addition, the machine features UltiMotion, the company’s motion control system designed for longevity and rigidity with larger linear rails that are wedge-locked to the frame to reduce vibration. The control uses software algorithms for motion planning instead of conventional hardware, optimizing look-ahead by as much as 10 000 blocks, and is said to reduce cycle time by 30 percent while improving part surface finish.

The company also offers its Max5 control console, the HBMX55i horizontal boring mill, the three-axis VMX6030i, the five-axis, high-speed VMX30UHSi, the five-axis VM10Ui, the three-axis, high-speed VMX42HSi, the three-axis VM20i with rotary table, the three-axis VM5i, the TMM12i turn-mill lathe and the TM8i lathe.
