The Tongtai Q5 gang-type CNC lathe, engineered for fast production of small workpieces. In addition to a 25 mm through-spindle bar capacity, the machine features a 6,000-rpm, 5.6-kW spindle motor, and offers a rapid traverse rate of 30 mpm. An 8,000-rpm spindle is also available as an option. The turning center’s straightforward gang tooling and lack of subspindle further promote fast machining. Tool capacity, depending on the workpiece being processed, is 4 to 6 ID or OD tools. The machine occupies a 1 490 x 1 870 mm compact footprint.

Optional automation systems can improve the machine’s productivity. One configuration combines a bar feeder, part catcher and part conveyor. For longer-term, higher-volume automated production, eight-pallet or two-pallet gantry-loader-type part stockers are available to handle parts ranging to 50 mm in diameter and 38 mm in length.
