Company Profile
Established in 1990 by Italian immigrant Guglielmo Tallarico as a general engineering shop, Gauteng based metal forming and fabricating equipment supplier Talmac began selling equipment in 2004. The business started to focus more on equipment sales when Guglielmo’s eldest son Francesco, a Mechanical Engineer, joined the company in 2005 and now offers laser and more sheet metal fabrication technologies.
The company has recently made a number of changes to its operational and sales activities that will enable the company to enhance its presence in the sheet metal, plate and metal removal market. The company still offers an equipment refurbishment and repairs service but has built up its machinery sales division with sole agency agreements.
The equipment division is complimented with Italian company Rolleri Tooling, a manufacturer of pressbrake tooling, fast clamping systems, shear blades and accessories. The company also has a presence in the metal removal market too.
New sales and administration offices
Talmac operates from a facility in Wadeville where it has an impressive showroom with the latest equipment on display. This facility has now been enhanced with the addition of new sales and administration offices featuring engineering, sales and administration areas, and a training room.
Countrywide representation
Talmac Machine Tools has also been active in its machinery sales department and has appointed agents countrywide to represent its interests in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal and continues to strengthen its position in the forming area, namely turret punch presses, lasers, punch-shear combination, punch-laser combination, press brakes, robotic press brakes, automated bending cells, and material management systems.
Talmac Machine Tools also has a key agreement with Prima Industrie Group, a company that has been listed on the Italian Stock Exchange since 1999. The Group develops, manufactures and markets laser systems for industrial applications, sheet metal processing, as well as industrial electronics and laser technologies. The Group has manufacturing sites in Italy (Prima Industrie S.p.A, Prima Electro S.p.A, Finn-Power Italia Srl), Finland (Finn-Power Oy), USA (Prima Electro North America Llc, Prima Power Laserdyne Llc.) and China (Shanghai Unity Prima Ltd.), as well as a direct commercial and after-sales presence in 70 countries around the world.
Talmac Machine Tools’ association with Talmac Engineering, a civil, structural and mechanical engineering consulting, design, fabrication, construction and project management company run by Francesco’s brother Nico, provides further scope to understand exactly how to supply customers with quality service.
