Prima Power acquires Sistec AM

The recent acquisition of long-standing robotics partner Sistec AM expands Prima Power’s expertise in technology integration to further strengthen its customer offering.

Prima Power is making significant progress toward full automation as part of its “Evolve by Integration” strategy. The acquisition of robot manufacturer Sistec AM strengthens the integration of solutions in terms of flexibility and performance. Furthermore, sheet metal processors can now source various solutions from a single source.

Acquisition brings benefits
Sistec AM’s new robotics integration unit is designed to help Prima Power implement a comprehensive range of sheet metal technologies, advanced robot cells, and more flexible manufacturing systems. According to the company, this will result in benefits such as increased productivity, more compact layouts, intelligent logistics handling, and better utilisation of employee time.

Prima Power also plans to transform sheet metal processing by combining advanced robotics with servo-electric machines. Robotic bending cells have been developed for this purpose to ensure high repeatability and a rapid return on investment. This should keep even small batches profitable. The standalone bending cells enable the processing of a wide variety of materials and thicknesses, according to the manufacturer. The modular design enables easy adaptation and scalability, which is important for the diverse requirements of different customers – regardless of their size.
