The range of CNC machines will compliment the existing range of machines that MTP imports and sells.

Vanderbijlpark based MTP has announced that it has been appointed the sole distributor in South Africa of Neway CNC Equipment. The company will introduce the machines to the South African market when they participate at the Machine Tools 2014 exhibition at The Expo Centre, Nasrec from 15 to 19 September 2014. The machine tool exhibition, which will be located in Hall 9, will run alongside the Electra Mining Africa exhibition.

“Last year we visited the EMO 2013 exhibition in Hannover, Germany and were invited to visit the Neway stand. We were very impressed with the machines on display. We were subsequently invited to visit Neway’s manufacturing facilities in Suzhou, China,” said Bart Pieterse, MD of MTP.

“Neway is a privately owned company that is committed to building the highest quality machine tools to come out of China. On my tours of the Neway factories in Suzhou, I was inspired with Neway’s attention to quality machining, quantity of spare parts, service, documentation and growth plans,” said Bart.

“Neway CNC Equipment evolves out of Neway Valves, a company that was formed in 1997. Neway Valves is a global leader in the valve industry. During its growth, Neway Valves discovered it had specific machine tool requirements that could only be met if it started building its own CNC machine tools and ‘raise the bar’ of the quality of its products. This is when the company decided to build its own world-class foundries and machine shops in Suzhou, China. It is aiming to manufacture over 2 000 machines this year and already has over 6 000 machines in the field worldwide.”

“For processing machining of its own Neway machines you will find the latest equipment from well-known manufacturers such as Strarragheckert, Zayer, Favretto, Swiss SIP and Kellenberger on the shopfloor. For quality control they use inspection and testing devices from Mahr, Renishaw and Schenck and for machine components you will find famous brands like NSK, SKF, INA bearings, Hiwin, PMI and THK on the machines,” said Carlos Figueiredo, Sales Manager at MTP.

“Additionally the company is certified with ISO and CE certification for the full production line.”

“Neway CNC Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was formerly known as Suzhou Neway Machinery Co., Ltd. and changed its name in August 2009. It was formed in 2005 and since then it has expanded its international footprint and range of machines. More recently a network of distributors opened up in the USA in 2012, with headquarters in Texas. It will also be exhibiting at the upcoming IMTS 2014 exhibition in Chicago, Illinois, which is the USA’s answer to the EMO exhibition. For example the CNC vertical machining centers include box way type, linear rails type, fixed column type and moving column type. The VMC sizes range from 600 mm to 2500 mm type with the smallest one, the VM702H, with an XYZ axis travel of 650 x 420 x 500 mm and the biggest model, the VM2504F, a XYZ travel of 2100 x 600 x 600 mm,” explained Carlos.

“The models that we will have on display at Machine Tools 2014 will be the CNC vertical machining centre VM 903 S, which has XYZ travels of 850 x 520 x 560 and a table size of 950 x 520 mm and the CNC lathe NL 504 SA, which has a swing over bed of 450 mm, machining diameter of 500 mm and a turning length of 1 000 mm.”
