A J Charnaud & Co (Pty) Ltd, a leading global manufacturer of protective wear for protection against radiant heat, electric arc flash, flames, fire and molten metal splash, has introduced a new, advanced Metal-Safe® range of products.
The latest innovation in the Charnaud Metal-Safe® protective work wear family is a unique anti-static product that offers a new-to-market permanently flame resistant solution for protection against molten metal splash, flash fire, flames and welding.
The Metal-Safe® welding garment is made from the next generation of personal protective fabrics – a blend of Lenzing FR®, high-strength synthetic and other fibres that offer an exceptional performance garment which is comfortable to wear and long lasting.
The garment combines the best of aramids and viscose into super comfort, offering reduced heat stress, moisture absorption and superior insulation against welding and molten metal splash. The garment is inherently flame resistant for the life of the garment.
The Metal-Safe® garment was designed for use in the oil and gas, petro-chemical, mining, fire and emergency response industries. The garment is certified according to the appropriate standards for each industry including: NFPA 2112:2007 for flash fire, EN ISO 11612:2008 for heat and flame, EN 1149-3:2004 for electrostatic properties and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for harmful substances.
Added benefits include water wash ability, colour fastness and an environment friendly garment available in one- and two-piece coveralls with 260 g/m² and 425 g/m² fabric weight options.
