As the company founders had long term experience in the area of multi-axis motion control systems, the development of control systems for CNC machine tools and cutting machines followed. In 1994 the company started production of plasma cutting machines. Further cooperation with another Slovak company – IQM Ltd. – who provided a team of highly qualified machine design engineers, resulted in a complete series of machines equipped with plasma, oxyfuel, waterjet, laser and milling technologies.

Rapid growth of MicroStep, spol. s r.o. resulted in the establishment of several subsidiaries, most important of which are: Microstep Europa GmbH in Germany, MicroStep HDO s.r.o. and MicroStep PA s.r.o.

In 2007 another subsidiary joined the group, MicroStep Photonics GmBH, dedicated to the development of applications for laser cutting machines and support in the field of laser technology.

Additionally the MicroStep Group also supplies automation and software applications for almost any business in the steel and manufacturing sector.
