Hurco happy with EMO 2023 results

EMO 2023 at the end of September has been hailed as a huge success by Hurco.

Hurco said its sales staff, agents and distributors reported excellent footfall throughout the week. In total 31 new machine orders were booked on the stand in addition to some high-quality enquiries from new customers.

Michael Auer, managing director of Hurco GmbH, said: “EMO is a great opportunity to re-establish relationships with our sales agents. It also gives us the chance to educate and incentivise for the year ahead. It’s also a great platform to display the latest technology that Hurco is offering.”

Supporting the focus on automation and simple programming at this year’s EMO, Hurco showed two ProCobots – Hurco’s own plug-and-play collaborative robot solution, feeding both a lathe and a vertical machining center. The Hurco ProCobot software reducing programming time to a minimum, thereby making automation of small batches a possibility.

Solid Model Import for programming freeform surfaces on the shop floor
The second major topic on the company’s stand at EMO was further simplification of programming at the machine. Hurco says it wants to help customers run an efficient operation, shorten turnaround times and maximise resource availability. That is why Hurco’s control system is constantly learning.

New this year is the Surfacing option. Hurco’s Solid Model Import software makes it possible to import 3D models formatted as STEP files directly into the control. Surfacing expands the import capability for solid models to include the surface data set. The new functionality enables programming of even complex freeform surfaces on the shop floor. Prior to this development, it was necessary to use a CAM workstation to generate freeform surfaces.
