Hurco South Africa appointed Röders representative in South Africa

Ultra-high-precision 3 and 5-axis HSC milling machines incorporating, where necessary, jig grinding in the same machine and set up.

For the past 10 years Hurco Europe Ltd have been successfully representing the company Röders Tec of Germany, in the UK. There are now many Röders machines throughout the UK and Ireland, and on the back of this success Hurco South Africa have now been appointed the exclusive representative for Röders in South Africa.

The Röders machines have a very specific application and compliment the Hurco machines perfectly. Where the application calls for ultra-high precision, mirrored finishes, combined milling and jig grinding, then the Röders range of HSC machines have the perfect solution.

Working with a wide selection of materials including ceramics, plastics, and graphite and with both non-ferrous and ferrous metals with harnesses up to 62 HRC, Röders machines consistently produce components with accuracies to +/-1 micron using speeds of up to 96 000RPM.

The Röders Company is situated in Soltau and is the largest industrial employer in the area with 340 employees, 38 trainees and another 450 employees worldwide. The business is now 200 years and six generations old. With the development of Ultra-precision machines being a natural progression from the original business when the required machine accuracy was at the time unavailable on the market, and as a necessity developed in-house by Röders engineers. The company has grown approximately 30% during recent years, which Jürgen Röders attributes primarily to the quality of his machine tools. Further growth is planned with the completion of additional capacity by the middle of 2016.

There are now over 2 000 Röders machines installed in 50 countries worldwide serving the most demanding of customers in industries such as aerospace, automotive, dental, medical, mould and die, minting, watch, optical, gear and general production.

Röders have an exceptional depth of development in design, control and drive technology. The high speed cutting machines are optimised for the highest possible performance in respect of machining precision, surface quality and dynamics. Various production processes can be combined in the HSC machines including milling and jig grinding for the finishing of components without the need for final polishing. Where necessary, the machines are automated by means of Röders own solutions. All Röders products are well known for their durability and excellent retention of value.

The full range of Röders HSC machines; 3-axis and 5-axis models with single spindle and dual spindle options in various designs including RXP, RXU, RXS and RHP can be seen on the Röders website – www.rö
