F&H Machine Tools (Pty) Ltd. was established in August 1999 with the merger of Forest Engineering and Holmach Machine Tools, both long standing leading machine tool suppliers in South Africa. Forest Engineering was formed in 1950 as a machine tool distributor. It was later purchased by the AngloVaal Group in 1969 and by the Amhold Group of companies in 1992, which saw it amalgamated with Green & Sons to form Grefor Machines (Pty) Ltd. It was at this stage the name Green & Sons was dropped as the company ventured purely into the hi-tech machine tool market.
Today F&H is positioned as a major supplier in South Africa’s machine tool industry. In 2011 F&H became part of Forge Group, a major leading importer and value-add distributor of industrial and commercial products.

F&H’s Gauteng-based showroom is a modern display of the more popular ranges of conventional and CNC machines.
